- 用來表示「兩者之間」同一特質的比較：
- 1、A ＋ be 動詞／連綴動詞 ＋ 形容詞比較級（＋ than ＋ B），如：
- This house is more expensive than that apartment.（這間房子比那間公寓貴。）
- 2、A ＋ 一般動詞 ＋（a ／ an）＋ 形容詞比較級 ＋ N（than ＋ B），如：
- My brother has more comic books than I do.（我弟弟擁有比我更多的漫畫書。）
- 兩個音節以內的規則變化：
- 1、原級 ＋ er，如：few → fewer。
- 2、字尾 e ＋ r，如：simple → simpler。
- 3、字尾為「子音 ＋ y」，去 y ＋ ier，如：easy → easier。
- 4、字尾「單母音 ＋ 單子音」，重複字尾 ＋ er，如：big → bigger。
- 三個音節以上的規則變化：
- more ＋ 原級，如：difficult → more difficult。
- 不規則變化：
- good ／ well → better（好的）、bad → worse（壞的）、many ／ much → more（多的）、little → less（少的）。
