名詞片語

由 wh- 疑問詞引導的名詞子句可以簡化為名詞片語（wh- ＋ to V），寫法：主要子句＋ wh- ＋to V …。當間接問句： 1、與主要子句主詞相同 2、含有「應該 should」／「能夠 can」的意思，則可以代換為名詞片語，如： Jenny has no idea who she can ask for help. = Jenny has no idea who to ask for help. （Jenny 不知道能向誰求助。）主要子句的動詞是授與動詞，而其間接受詞（人）與名詞子句（直接受詞）中的主詞為同一人時，也可代換為名詞片語，如： Would you show me how I can get to the MRT station? = Would you show me how to get to the MRT station? （你願意告訴我怎麼去捷運站嗎？） whether ／ if 間接問句也可以改為名詞片語，但只能用 whether，如： I’m not sure whether ／ if I will go to the party tomorrow. = I’m not sure whether to go to the party tomorrow. （我不確定明天是否會去那個派對。）
